Full description from the producer:
Join us for this very special edition in this series, where we commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the ‘Great Western’ High Speed special train, which took place on May 9th 1964 which, in turn, commemorated the 60th Anniversary of ‘City of Truro’s 100 mph run on May 9th 1904.
Volume 1: Starting from Taunton, we follow in the footsteps of classmate No.7025 ‘Sudeley Castle’ and recreate the non-stop run to Plymouth, when she took over from fallen comrade, No. 4079 ‘Pendennis Castle’.
Volume 2: Starting from Plymouth, ‘Clun Castle’ will retrace her footsteps over the South Devon Banks, almost 60 years to the day when she broke the record for the fastest time between the Naval City and Bristol.
Volume 3: Starting from Bristol Temple Meads, we travel along the original Great Western Mainline. On one of the oldest and most historic Mainline railways in the world, we will attempt a non-stop run via Bath, before tackling the climbs through the famous Box Tunnel, and Dauntsey Banks.
