Description

The West Country was the battleground over which the Great Western Railway and the London and South Western Railway fought for supremacy. They met and crossed one another at Exeter, which forms the pivot around which this programme revolves. In this DVD, which covers a decade of action, we see the Great Western 4-6-0s of the King and Castle classes as well as Panniers and Prairies, Southern locomotives from the Merchant Navy and West Country classes to the little M7 and T9 types which worked the branches.
