Ride in the cab of GWR Castle Class, No. 5043 ‘Earl of Mount Edgcumbe’ along the southern tip of the Cotswolds Hills, through the picturesque Golden Valley through Stroud. Running alongside the Thames Canal, the loco tackles the steep 1 in 60 gradients to Sapperton Tunnel, before dropping down into Kemble. On then at high speed towards Swindon, along the relayed double track section.

Join us for this unique journey with an ex-GWR Castle Class Locomotive. Running along the southern tip of the Cotswolds Hills, our route takes us through the picturesque Golden Valley through Stroud. Running alongside the Thames Canal, we tackle the steep 1 in 60 gradients, with our 400+ ton train, to Sapperton Tunnel, before dropping down into Kemble. From where we continue at high speed towards Swindon, along the newly relayed double track section, reinstated in 2014. Recapturing the Spirit of the Cheltenham Flyer this is one program you will not want to miss out on! With live sound recorded from the locomotive, we bring the action right to you.
