Description

The new Edinburgh tramway opened to the public on 31st May 2014. The line runs from the Airport to York Place in the city centre and is 8.5 miles (14km) long. This DVD shows scenes from the whole length of the line, combining very rare film taken during the testing and driver training period in the months up to the opening plus film taken during the first days of public service.

The new Edinburgh tramway opened to the public on 31st May 2014, the line runs from the Airport to York Place in the city centre and is 14km (8.5 miles) long. This DVD shows scenes from the whole length of the line and includes the scene when the first tram in public service departed from the Gyle Centre stop at 5 am on 31st May. The service is provided by 27 double ended 7 section articulated trams built by CAF in Spain, these are numbered from 251 – 277. This DVD consists of film taken during the testing and driver training period in the months up to the opening plus film taken during the first days of public service.
